【摘要】:Whenastructureddocumentisinterchangedbetweenanoriginatorandarecipient,therecipientreferstothestylespecificationsthattheoriginatorprovidestoreconstructthepresentation.However,whentherecipientdoesncthavesufficientrenderingfunctionality,itmayfailtoreconstructthepresentalionoutputastheoriginatorexpected.Inordertopreservepresentationoutputinthecourseofinterchange,theoriginatorandrecipientneedtonegotiateoverfunctionalitiesreferringtothespecificationsofdocumentrenderingsystemsTosatisfythisrequirement,thisstandardprovidestheminimumrequirementsforspecifyingdocumentrenderingsystemsThedocumentspecificationformatshallhavethesameminimumrequirementsdescribedhereThisInternationalStandardcanapplytothedocumentprocessingenvironment,whereadocumentisgiveninalogicallystructuredformatwhichisexpressedbyastructuremarkuplanguage,andthevisualrepresentationoflhedocumentisdescribedbymeansoftheexternalstyleandlayoutspecificationswhichastyleandlayoutspecificationslanguageprovides.Thevisualrepresentationofthegivendocumentisgeneratedwhenthestyleandlayoutspecificationsareappliedtothelogicalstructurebyadocumentrenderingsystem.ThisInternationalStandardprovidesanabstractlistofthefeaturesthatarenderingsystemforanauthoreddocumentmayhave,Thelistprovidesaframeofreference,againstwhich/heuserandimplementarcancomparethefeaturesofdocumentrenderingsystems.However,thisInternationalStandarddoesnotspecifyaconcreteinterchangesyntaxordirecthoweachdocumentrenderingsystemshallbehave.ThisInternationalStandardprovidestheminimumrequirementstospecifythefeaturesthatadocumentrenderingsystemwhichtransformsformattingobjectstorenderingoutput.Itmaybeusedasaframeofreference,againstwhichtheuser,implementer,orsoftwareagentmaycomparethefeaturesofadocumentrenderingsystem.Accordingtotheserequirements,theusermayexpresswhatheorsheexpectsofadocumentrenderingsystem,theimplementermaydescribethefunctionalityandcapabilityofthedocumentrenderingsystemthatheorsheimplements,andthesoftwareagentmaynegotiateaminimumseteffunctionalityandcapabilitythataresharedacrossdifferentdocumentrenderingsystemimplementations.
