【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseinanalyticallaboratoriesincludingon-sitein-serviceoilanalysislaboratories.Periodicsamplingandanalysisoflubricantshavelongbeenusedasameanstodetermineoverallmachineryhealth.Atomicemissionspectroscopy(AES)isoftenemployedforwearmetalanalysis(TestMethodsD5185andD6595).Anumberofphysicalpropertytestscomplementwearmetalanalysisandareusedtoprovideinformationonlubricantcondition(TestMethodsD445,D2896,D6304,andD7279).Molecularspectroscopy(PracticeE2412)providesdirectinformationonmolecularspeciesofinterestincludingadditives,lubricantdegradationproductsandcontaminatingfluidssuchaswater,fuelandglycol.Thedirectimagingintegratedtesterprovidescomplementaryinformationonparticlecount,particlesize,particletype,andsootcontent.Particlesinlubricatingandhydraulicoilsaredetrimentalbecausetheyincreasewear,clogfiltersandaccelerateoildegradation.5.3Particlecountmayaidinassessingthecapabilityofafiltrationsystemtocleanthefluid,determineifoff-linerecirculatingfiltrationisneededtocleanthefluid,oraidinthedecisionwhetherornottochangethefluid.5.4Anincreaseintheconcentrationandsizeofwearparticlesisindicativeofincipientfailureorcomponentchangeout.Predictivemaintenancebyoilanalysismonitorstheconcentrationandsizeofwearparticlesonaperiodicbasistopredictfailure.5.5Highsootlevelsindieselenginelubricatingoilmayindicateabnormalengineoperation.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofparticleconcentration,particlesizedistribution,particleshape,andsootcontentfornewandin-serviceoilsusedforlubricationandhydraulicsystemsbyadirectimagingintegratedtester.1.1.1Thetestmethodisapplicabletopetroleumandsyntheticbasedfluids.Samplesfrom2to150mm2/sat40x00B0;Cmaybeprocesseddirectly.Samplesofgreaterviscositymaybeprocessedaftersolventdilution.1.1.2Particlesmeasuredareintherangefrom4x03BC;mtox2265;70x03BC;mwiththeupperlimitdependentuponpassingthrougha100x03BC;mmeshinletscreen.1.1.3Particleconcentrationmeasuredmaybeashighas5,000,000particlespermLwithoutsignificantcoincidenceerror.1.1.4Particleshapeisdeterminedforparticlesgreaterthanapproximately20x00B5;minlength.Particlesarecategorizedintothefollowingcategories:sliding,cutting,fatigue,nonmetallic,fibers,waterdroplets,andairbubbles.1.1.5Sootisdetermineduptoapproximately1.5%byweight.1.1.6Thistestmethodusesobjectsofknownlineardimensionforcalibration.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,......
